THUNDERBABE originally debuted as comedy action
adventure in summer 2005 at the Altarena Playhouse in Alameda, CA,
selling out by its second weekend. Reviewers called the show “rollicking,
zany fun!” and described it as "truly one of the most
refreshing, delightful and uproariously funny shows to hit the boards
anywhere in a long, long, time.”
On the strength of its
box office performance and strong reviews, THUNDERBABE
took her second flight in May 2007 in an encore presentation at
Theatre on San Pedro Square in San Jose, CA. Reviewers called the
play "a plucky little show about finding your inner super girl"
and, within a week, audiences voted THUNDERBABE
to the top of the Artsopolis "Best Bay Area Pics" list
where it remained for the rest of the run.
Looking forward
Now, playwright, Bobbi Fagone, is taking THUNDERBABE
to other regional theaters on its journey to Broadway. She is currently
seeking producing partners (theaters and/or investors) who believe
in this project, who want to be associated with its development
and can help maximize its potential. For more information about
investment opportunities, please contact Bobbi
Fagone of BJF Creative Productions.
About the play
THUNDERBABE is the story of a former
super heroine who spent her youth putting bad guys behind bars,
now retired to the life of wife and soccer mom. Out of the blue,
evil villainess, Toxic Passion, breaks out of prison, threatens
to enslave the globe and wreak vengeance on Thunderbabe and her
former crime-fighting partner (and ex-lover) the Golden Falcon.
Suddenly Thunderbabe finds herself grappling with skeletons in her
closet that threaten to trash her marriage and reveal her secret
identity…all while struggling with rekindled feelings for
her old flame, a ruthless madwoman on the loose and a whopper of
a mid-life crisis. Can an out-of-practice, menopausal super heroine
squeeze back into her spandex and get her act together in time to
save the world?
